A machine installed in the public space interacts with people passing-by. When someone presses the machine’s single button the device prints a piece paper with an explanation for the user.
Grupogrifo.org designed this machine to encourage people to perform a specific action in favor of a cause, adding media pressure in their favor.
With the data collected an open public consultation is carried out in order to find out the number of people who are willing to demonstrate publicly for the cause. These data will be published on the website www.grupogrifo.org
A metal box (35x35x20 cm) covered in red electrostatic paint, and a single front button. When the button is pressed it produces an explanatory ticket, and simultaneously sends a digital message through emails and tweets. An Arduino system installed in the box can collect data and send them to the web.

Interdisciplinary study group who works developing ideas and urban communication campaigns to positively encourage people to reclaim urban spaces, and to promote a better understanding of the city and collective existence. Gripo fosters relationships and communication in places where dialogue has deteriorated as a result of the dynamics that take place in cities. Gripo offers a space for sharing, a stream of pure good vibes.

Grifo Group started in 2004 with the campaign “Please”: 4,000 stickers on signposts located in the busiest spots of Santiago added a positive message to the sign “STOP”. This first campaign was followed by “Money”: the sentence “Money is addictive” was displayed in different parts of the city, just like the warning on cigarette packs. Then came the poster “Keep on the grass” in different squares and “I’m highway” where information panels of motorways displayed humorous and eloquent messages. The project “You are here” employed a giant arrow to pinpoint at different spots of the city of Santiago like Plaza Italia (2012), André Jarlan Park (2013) and Constitution Square (2015).
