Estar Distantes (Being Away) is a tapestry mural made of recycled textiles, which will consist of an 8 x 9 meter- triptych that hung from one of the buildings overlooking Plaza Libertad. Tapestries are based on the idea of distance – that emotional distance that migrants have to their places of origin, in the hopes of traveling an uncertain but better path than in the past. Therefore, the represented distance will be that of migrants currently living in the neighborhood, with regard to their countries of origin and the distance of the first Chilean migrants who came to the neighborhood, when Yungay offered living space to the working-class world that was displaced from the country and moved to the city.

12na is a project of the textile artists Mariano Breccia (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1971) and Mechi Martinez (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1979) who, based on recycling, create unique garments that contribute to comprehensive projects that speak as much to sustainability as to the experience of dressing in garments made from love.

12-na is a creative platform that uses textile recycling as a means of expression and that manifests itself in multiple expressive formats in projects that integrate: costumes, installations, audiovisual, workshops, events in the public space. It participates in open projects that incorporate the work with communities and dialogue with other artists.
